Thank you to all the Pastors and Church leaders from across the Commonwealth that came to Lynchburg today. We had an inspiring conversation about the future of our country and the importance of families. The family is the backbone of our society. It is the place where we learn right from wrong. It is where we learn about God, faith, honesty, work ethic and many other values. The health of our country is tied to the health of our families.
Thank you to all the Pastors and Church leaders from across the Commonwealth that came to Lynchburg today!

Law Enforcement for Allen
Today, leaders from Virginia’s law enforcement community announced their endorsement of George Allen for U.S. Senate, citing his strong record of success in reforming the criminal justice system and working with local leaders to implement common sense crime reduction policies for the Commonwealth.
Under George Allen’s leadership Virginia abolished parole, reformed the juvenile justice system, implemented truth-in-sentencing and required significant increases in prison time for violent and repeat offenders. Today, Virginia recidivism rates are well below the national average.
“I have known George Allen for a long time and I am proud to give him my strong support in this election. George Allen is a true friend to law enforcement and his record speaks for itself. As Governor, George Allen made historic reforms to the criminal justice system, including the abolition of parole, truth-in-sentencing, and significant increases in prison time for violent and repeat criminals. No one has a record tougher on crime than George Allen, and we need him in the U.S. Senate.” Ken Stolle, Sheriff of Virginia Beach
“It is my pleasure and honor to support and endorse my colleague and friend, George Allen for the United States Senate for Virginia. George Allen is a man of knowledge. We are living in a time that demands experience. Due to the state of our economy and diminishing confidence in our country’s government we must choose sound leaders. George Allen is an innovative problem solver, something that was proven during his terms as Governor and Senator of Virginia. George Allen is approachable; he listens. We need someone in the U.S. Senate who will listen to our concerns in a responsive manner. George Allen is that person.” Octavia Johnson, Sheriff City of Roanoke
“George Allen is the type of common sense conservative that we need in the Senate. When he took on crime in Virginia he worked to abolish parole for violent criminals and he instituted truth in sentencing–two of the most important reforms in criminal justice in Virginia’s history. We are still reaping the benefit of his work. I’ve known George Allen for the 20 years that I have been Commonwealth’s Attorney–and I am proud to support his campaign.” Gary Close, Culpeper Commonwealth’s Attorney
“George Allen has been a strong and consistent supporter of law enforcement. Virginia and America are safer for citizens and their families because of George Allen. Virginians know they can count on George Allen to bring a strong emphasis on protecting the safety and security of law-abiding people to the U.S. Senate. Please join me in supporting George Allen for U.S. Senate” Lisa Caruso, Dinwiddie County Commonwealth’s Attorney

For Virginians and Future Generations Don’t Approve Skyrocketing Deficit Spending & Dangerous Debt
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

For Virginians and Future Generations Don’t Approve Skyrocketing Deficit Spending & Dangerous Debt
Richmond, VA – George Allen issued the following statement regarding the House’s vote in rejecting legislation that would have authorized additional borrowing by the federal government:
“In the five years since Democrats took control of Washington the national debt has shot up over 60% – $5.6 trillion. All while President Obama has made trillion dollar deficits the norm. Last night House Republicans took a stand for Virginians and future generations by repudiating calls from the White House and some Democrats for another blank check. In a bi-partisan vote they overwhelmingly showed President Obama that they cannot continue to pile up our nation’s debt without taking serious steps to rein in the out of control spending.
“Some might call last night’s vote symbolic, but Virginians say it’s a small step in the right direction – we hope Washington gets the message. I have said repeatedly that there should be no increase in the federal debt ceiling without meaningful reforms like a balanced budget amendment vote and significant, ironclad spending cuts. The current path we are on is dangerous and unsustainable, it will endanger our children’s future and their ability to achieve the American Dream.”
