Roanoke Times: George Allen visits Coca-Cola bottling plant, City Market building on pass through Roanoke

George Allen visits Coca-Cola bottling plant, City Market building on pass through Roanoke

by Mason Adams

U.S. Senate candidate George Allen is pushing ahead with a campaign that seems to be aimed solely at Democrat Tim Kaine. During a stop at the City Market Building in Roanoke today, Allen took a couple of shots at Kaine but didn’t mention any of his fellow Republicans running for the GOP nomination.

The Allen campaign also released a web video trying to tie Kaine to President Barack Obama — a tactic it’s used for months and will likely continue up through election day. (For his part, Kaine is hitting Allen on his term in the Senate and also trying to tie him to the social legislation currently in the General Assembly.)

Allen’s spending more time in western Virginia this week, speaking to veterans at a breakfast tomorrow morning in Vinton before swinging down through Pulaski, Wytheville, Bristol, Abingdon, Hillsville, Patrick County, Martinsville and Danville.

Allen continued to call for “unleashing America’s energy resources” by cutting back on regulations. He called for extension of the Keystone XL pipleline from Canada to the midwest.

Fundraiser for Senator Ralph Smith

We ended the day headlining a fundraiser in Roanoke for Ralph Smith, my good friend and a great State Senator for the people of Floyd county, Salem city and parts of Bedford, Carroll, Franklin, Montgomery, Roanoke and Wythe Counties.  We need to do everything we can to get out the vote and make sure these outstanding Republican candidates win their elections on November 8th.  The world is run by those who show up.  We need to make sure to talk to our like-minded friends, family and neighbors and make it to the polls in five days.  On to victory!

George Allen Addresses Tea Party Rally in Roanoke, Va

Currently there are 5 candidates trying to get the Republican Nomination, however Allen enjoys a solid lead in the polls and he has the support of many in the tea party movement.

We cannot allow Tim Kaine and his liberal allies to continue this massive expansion of the federal government. It’s time to take our country back from the big-spending Washington liberals ruining our economy and attacking our freedom.

George Allen understands that power belongs with “We the People.” He will fight to restrain this over-reaching federal government and preserve the individual freedoms and rights that our Founders envisioned. George Allen has a proven track record of fostering a pro-growth environment for job creation and implementing bold reforms needed to ensure the government serves us, not the other way around.

The elections in 2012 will mark a pivotal turning point for our nation. We need to elect George Allen to the U.S. Senate to help save America from failed, big-government policies that are diminishing the promise of the American Dream for ours and future generations. George Allen is a true conservative leader who shares our core principles. We know he will fight for our Virginia values and we are proud to fight with him.
