Former Virginia First Lady Susan Allen touted jobs, the economy and energy policy during a stop in Staunton to pitch her husband’s bid to reclaim a seat in the U.S. Senate.
George Allen, who served a term as governor before his first stint in the U.S. Senate, is determined and excited about the chance to work for the state again, Susan Allen told a group of supporters inside Wright’s Dairy Rite.
“It is his hope that he can go to Washington and make sure that the taxes are low, that we have the right Congress to create jobs for all of our young people, and that we start using her own energy,” she said, eliciting a round of applause.
