George Allen Statement on Passing of Justice Leroy Hassell
Mt. Vernon, VA – George Allen issued the following statement on the passing of Virginia Supreme Court Justice Leroy Hassell, Sr.:
“Susan and I extend our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Chief Justice Hassell. He was a fine man, a principled jurist, and a leader for all Virginians to admire. Though he will always hold a special place in Virginia history, he will also be remembered for his great love of the Commonwealth and his abiding respect for the Constitution and the laws he was sworn to uphold.
“The son of two educators, he knew that an education is the surest way to achieve success in life, and he put his to good use through hard work, dedication and a strong sense of purpose. The people of Virginia will be forever grateful for his exemplary leadership.”
