Mason Conservative on Allen from Saturday
Tuesday, November 4th, 2008Mason Conservative was at the McCain Victory Rally in Springfield on Saturday and had gave a great review of Governor Allen’s speech in the pre-program:
Tanned, trim, focused, and fiery; George Allen fully reemerged this morning at the Interstate Van Lines rally for John McCain. It was an interesting moment when one considers the fact that had one brief word never left his lips it could likely be George Allen three days away from a presidential election. As it, Allen’s speech lit up the crowd and it was vintage Allen. Gone where constant references to Jefferson and football, Allen dialed into defining what this party stands for in this election and really sought to reassert the core values of this party that, behind him in 1993, started our ascendency. It was an impressive performance. Allen has stepped out of his gaffe in this election, criss-crossing the state as a McCain surrogate more than nearly any other major Republican figure in the state. I don’t know what he has in mind and I don’t know where he fits in right now, but George Allen is not fading into elder statesman status - he’s very much a player right now and ready to move forward.
