George Allen on the Floor at the Republican National Convention
Friday, September 5th, 2008The Richmond Times-Dispatch posted this picture of Governor Allen on the floor at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Throughout the week, there was one thing that excited everyone and dominated the talk around the Twin Cities: Sarah Palin!
There as a Delegate from Virginia, Governor Allen also conducted numerous print, radio, blog and T.V. interviews on behalf of Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin. In addition to advising the McCain-Palin campaign on Energy, Economic Competitiveness and Nanotechnology policy, Governor Allen serves as Honorary Chairman of the Virginia Statewide Leadership Team for the McCain-Palin campaign.
He traveled to the Twin Cities with his wife Susan, who was also active on the media circuit. Susan and Hughes Sullivan hosted their nightly radio show on WTDK from Radio Row on Thursday at the Convention. The two were on the air for nearly 6 hours and had some wonderful conversations with Senator Norm Coleman, Congressman Eric Cantor, radio host Michael Medved, Congressman John Mica, radio host and blogger Hugh Hewitt, and Senator Orin Hatch, just to name a few. Listen to Part I, Part II and Part III. Susan Allen is leading the Women for McCain effort in Virginia.
“As did the whole semi-hoarse Virginia delegation, Susan and I had a wonderful week out in the Twin Cities. From coast to coast, Republicans and independents are energized by our dynamic duo of John McCain and Sarah Palin,” said Governor Allen from back home in the Commonwealth. “I am truly excited to advocate for this Maverick ticket that will provide the leadership to attain strategic American Energy independence, rein in wasteful Washington spending, lower tax burdens on families and small businesses, and Stand Strong for Freedom!”
